Since their discovery of Kalavandra the halflings of Hilland have established two of their own settlements as well as integrated themselves in almost every other settlement. Many halflings are content to live quiet, peaceful lives in Kalavandra while others are prone to wanderlust and seek adventure. Other races tend to underestimate halflings and tend to ignore their existence when dealing with “important matters”.

Tyrunians – Humans from the Empire of Tyrun
The Tyrunian settlers were chosen with conquest in mind. The first Tyrunian ships that arrived held a cohort of promising soldiers. The next set of ships held prostitutes, widows and homeless women to help populate the new land (“casket girls”). Tyrunians tend to be aggressive, strong and obedient to those of authority. They tend to favor melee or divine pursuits over arcane study.

Ladranni – Humans from the fallen empire of Ladria
Ladranni have generally darker complexions than the average human found in Kalavandra, with tan to brown skin, brown to black eyes, and dark brown or black hair. They are ever so slightly larger in frame than the average human, and have sharp, hawklike features.
Without homeland, the Ladranni roam the world and its reflections. Their magic and guile allow them to safely traverse the dark gulfs between settled areas, outside the politics and concerns of civilized places. To some, these numinous vagabonds bring exotic goods, news, services, and skills. However, they also take away friends, orphaned children, and survival essentials, as well as more valuables than, perhaps, they honestly earned.
Entering into an agreement with a Ladranni is viewed as very dangerous. Ladranni are known to be deceptive, tellers of half-truths and keeper of secrets. It is also well known that unexplained, horrible events often happen to those that break an agreement or wrong a Ladranni.

The Sylvans are the most reclusive of the three native races on Kalavandra. They live in the canyon forests on the western coast of the island. Upon reaching adulthood, the Sylvan creates his/her Spirit Mask – a wooden mask decorated with unique designs unique to the individual. From this point onward, the mask becomes the elf’s identity – being seen without it in public is considered a huge disgrace. Because of the value placed on the spirit mask, an elf would never trade, steal or sell their mask or another’s. During the ritual performed upon an elf’s death, the deceased’s spirit mask is fused into the trunk of an ancient tree. The Sylvan believe that if the deceased has a strong and pure soul, the soul will inhabit the tree that bears its mask.
Compared to the eastern kingdoms, the Ogrimmar lead a barbaric and hedonistic lifestyle. The DESERT NAME where most Ogrimmar make their home is a harsh and merciless environment.
Only the strong can endure such conditions and the Ogrimmar have fully embraced this philosophy. Those too weak to survive on their own are left to their own demise. Helping another without personal gain is seen as a weakness itself.
While they are known to be blunt and selfish, they also have a strong sense of spirituality and worship the primordial spirits found in all things. They have a profound respect for the desert and will aggressively attack anyone that threatens to harm it.
